No Mas No More
In 2018, No Mas No More was established to work towards the ratification of the Istanbul Convention in the Caribbean Netherlands and in the countries of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten. This treaty contains all the requirements for addressing violence against women and domestic violence.
Conferences
In 2018, the first No Mas No More Conference was organised. This conference is for professionals working in the field of domestic violence and children’s rights from the six islands and European Netherlands. The conferences discuss how to tackle domestic violence and the actions needed to improve well-being. In 2023, the theme of sexual education and sexual violence will be the focus of the No Mas No More Conference.
Working group
To continue working on key themes, the No Mas No More working group has existed since 2022. In it, the ministries, public entities and governments of the six Caribbean islands, and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport are represented.
The working group aims to exchange best practices, new methods and strengthening cooperation between the six islands of the Dutch Kingdom and the Netherlands. This cooperation is set out in a MoU.
The aim of the website and the working group is to proactively share information with each other.
